Keeping weight on very active Jack

by Bill
(New Jersey)

I have a 2 1/2 year old Jack that is very active... out all day chasing squirrels and anything else that moves. She's not an eat at one time kind of eater, but rather has a full bowl of Benneful that she eats throughout the day. She's healthy, but skinny. Can't seem to keep weight on her. I'm pretty sure it's activity related since in the winter, she gets heavier. Anything I can add to her diet that will help?

IT'S TIME TO FEED HER...
by: ScooterMama59

Hello,
Sorry I missed your question, but I was in Germany on vacation. I have a JRT just like yours. I am a dogsitter and trainer and I feed mine FroDog(a frozen dog food) and Royal Canin mixed together. I feed her anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 cups THREE times aday. I know they say TWO times aday, but my Ginger would starve. We give a treat (real meat) 2-3 times aday, but a small piece so that it won't spoil her eating.
Mixing a wet food and a dry food that she will eat and LIKES is very important.
Make sure that she has plenty of water ALL thru out the day.
Best to you and GOD bless,
Stef and Ginger, Belgium
