I have a 12 week old jack russell female and a 13month female Jack,

as we lived in a bungalow when we got our first Jack Russel walking down stairs was not an issue, we live in a normal house with stairs now and are wondering when my 12 week jack is likely to be able to walk down them she can walk up and manages little steps outside no bother, but I was wondering if I will have to teach her to walk down? can you help please?

i have a 2yr old JRT.For about 3 mths after we got him he would not go near the stairs.I have 4 levels in my townhouse.I left him alone and he finally did it on his own.He has taken over the house and the stairs don't bother him one bit.

I don't think you will have a problem, just sit by the side of her on each step and allow her to make her own way down moving with her as she goes down, once she has done this a time or two I am sure she will be fine.
