Pregnant Titchies Temperature !

by Cathring
(Esses)

My Jack Russell X Border Collie Titchie's 54days pregnant, last night (2nd Jan) she was showing sign's of preparing for labor, she threw up all her dinner, she was panting and pacing and was very restless, I was checking her temp regular, when I started taking her temp she was 98.64F, she went down within hours to 95.36F, but then went up to 99.32F before we went to bed, I've read that the bitches temp goes down 24hours before birth, is this true? I checked her temp this morning and she was 96.44F is this normal?
This is my 1st litter of pups but its Titchies 3rd litter. This morning she seems ok, a little restless but then she will lay down for about 10-15 minutes then will walk about again.
The only thing im worried about is the fact shes only 54 days pregnant.

So i guess my question is: is her temperature ok? or are we going to be having pups very soon, we are prepared for the delivery, she has two beds to chose from, they are both padded bout and comfy for her, we have towels at the ready too.

Any advise would be great.
Thanks for reading.
x

3 Jack Russell Terriers

by Fabiola Gonzalez
(Pennsylvania)

He is a male Jack Russell. He likes to play a lot. What i most like about him is that he sleep weird.. He is never comfortable one way so he is always moving when he sleeps. I seen that he is more comfortable in the floor than in a couch or in a bed.when ever we buy a a bed for him he always destroys the bed...i took this picture one day when he was sleeping i hope you like it!!!
i also have a female jack Russell and well she usually loves to sleep on the couch and this is the first picture i took her when she was sleeping on the floor because she was tired of running and playing with Pirata...
the picture with the dog with a coustume..he was my first jack russell terrie we had him for almost a year..when accidentally a woman ran over him and she kill him..but i love this picture because i bought his coustume for halloween and he love it...so these are my three jaack russells... and i think they are great dog...hope you enjoy the pictures..

Lazy puppy!

by Gina
(Staffordshire, UK)

Frankie is 22 weeks old. She is lots of fun and is very active during the week but at weekends she becomes very lazy and sleeps nearly all day on Sunday (something we all feel like doing, but don't get the chance!)

Doc (The Jack ) & Hoss (The Rat) Squirrel Hunting in the Big Tree!

Doc & Hoss Checking out Squirrels!

Doc & Hoss Checking out Squirrels!

Doc just turned 3 on January 7th 2011. He is quite the character and entertains us profusely. He has obsessive compulsive disorder but he is as sweet and funny as they come. We love his personality. He talks to us and scolds us and he is very protective of our Mama Kitty (by way of stray) and six new babies. He loves those babies-but Mama would rather eat his face and he really does take it in stride. He is very adept with a Frisbee, Stick and Ball. He and Hoss have wild times out in our rural Florida yard in the middle of Black Bear Country. Along with Gators, Lizards, Snakes, Squirrels, Turtles and Raccoons-he has fit in well from his humble Pacific Northwest beginnings.

Daisy and Tilly

Daisy and Tilly

18 months ago we had our first Jack Russell Daisy she is a broken coated medium legged, her temperament is fantastic loving, loves human contact has to be with you all the time follows you all round house, she also talks to you gnashes her teeth as if like talking and will tap you when she wants to go outside during the night, if your doing something she has to be nosy and get her paws in.

When she was 12 months old after her first season she developed a small pea like lump in her chest, we took her to the vet straight away, who advised us to have the lump removed and also have her neutered and not risk her having puppies and shorted her life span. We were shattered as we wanted our lovely Daisy to have a family and share the love with her litter, she would have made a lovely mum.

We got another pup a smooth haired short legged Jack Russell Tilly a whole bundle of fun, again with a lovely temperment as her mum and dad. Daisy took over the roll of showing her how to be the perfect Jack Russell they get on brilliant, they play together, sleep together under the quilt in the crook of my legs they just love to be touching you. They have their own temperments where as Daisy do not bark very much, Tilly loves to be very voicey and barks, but thats what makes them unique.

If anyone is thinking of getting a jack russell, if you show them all the love in the world, they will return it big time. They are hard work but worth it, As you can see I am hooked and thinking of getting another, but wondering if there is any more room in my bed.

THE WORLD OF WISDOM

by McKinley Anderson
(Spartanburg, SC , U.S.A. )

My Jack Russell, "Wisdom" is the greatest dog ever!! He is 5 years old and still possesses the same amount of energy now as he did when he was just a pup! These pictures here are just showing Wisdom relaxing, but that is not the case with him 95% of the time. Wisdom can get wound up at 7a.m. and maintain that same intensive energy almost 12hrs later. My Wisdom is a four-legged dynamo!! He is pure energy unbound! Also, he is my best friend. He seems to know when I feeling on top of the world or down in the dumps, because he'll always come and lay his whole body across my feet and stare at me until I stare back at him and say "Wisdom,I'm okay", "Daddy is okay." His favorite toy to play with is golf ball. I guess because anything softer than that would be easily destroyed by those powerful jaws of his. Wisdom thinks that he is the true Alpha-male in my neighborhood. He will try to go up against any male dog that crosses his path regardless if they are 20 times larger than he is! lol! MY LITTLE MONSTER(Wisdom).....Gotta love him!!
