Jack Russel Terrier hair

Hey just wondering how i can stop the Jack Russell from shedding, it sheds too much, and i might buy the furminator but i want to know if i groom it in anyway, after it stops shedding when will it shed again?.

shedding JRT

I havent tried the Furminator although I am tempted to do so. My 2 JRT shed like crazy especially Rassie, my smooth hair JRT. I often tell her she has a 24 hour hair production factory under her skin. My other JRT, Sea, is a rough coat and she does not shed as much, but I find JRT hair all over my apartment! It is one of the things we put up with having JRT's. I found brushing them everyday helps control, especially with my rough coat. She only has the rough coat in the winter months, she get groomed down to a smooth coat in the summer months for comfort. I recommend frequent brushing, depending on the coat type, if you have a smooth coat, it will shed more.
