Double Trouble!!!

I have two male JRT's Marley and Hendrix they're 12 weeks old, i understand that they are a handful at least thats what "Everyone" tells me but my issue is not how much they can be.The question is that i live on ten acres no real fenced in area, basically i cant just put them outside and hope for them to stay around the house which i wouldn't do anyway, even when I take them outside (unleashed) they run off so im running around like a mad man yelling for my dogs to come back ... not to mention they are so damn little god forbid they run up on a pack of coyotes or the neigbors territorial farm dog who will eat anything that moves. So i have been taking them out on a leash for the last two weeks but i know if i were to take them off the lease they would be gone in a flash how do i keep them from running off and how to listen when i call them to come here !!

Sorry for the long explanation but i wanted you to understand the circumstances!!
Thanks
Eric

SAME PROBLEM
by: DEA

I FACE THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU FOR THE PART OF GOING OUT WITHOUT LEASE. I RATHER SAY THAT SOMETIMES LISTEN TO MY COMMANDS BUT BELIEVE I FOUND IT VERY HARD REACHING TO THIS POINT. NOW HE KNOW WHEN HE DO SOMETHING WRONG PUT HIS TAIL DOWN AND FOLLOW ME QUIETLY WHEREVER I GO. MY MOTHER FOR LAUGH WHEN HE DOES SOMETHING WRONG AND I AM NOT AROUND CALLS MY NAME AND MY LITTLE PROTEAS HIDE AND BEHAVE HIMSELF. I HEARD FROM MY DOCTOR THAT I SHOULD NEVER LET HIM DO HIS OWN MIND AND TO PANISH HIM AT THE MOMENT HE DO HIS NAUGHTINESS. TRY THAT

Eric oh Eric

That's one of the hardest training challenges for Jack's to learn, to come and to stay, at least in my own experience. It's because of their dang independence and genetic love of the chase and their extreme territorial nature, always checking their borders for trespassers.

I'll recommend the same trainer I always do and that's Dove Cresswell that you can read more about on my "Training K9 Ebook" page. (see red buttons at left) She might be able to show you how to get your cute dogs to stick around. It worked for my Annie even though it took a bit of repeating.

In any case Eric, I wish you the best with them.

Trisha
