I have a dog named Tikki (almost 2), she is a Jack Russell Terrier/Black Lab mix. She is a Psycho dog...wow...glad to have your site to see the characteristics of the Jack Russell. She is mostly black with a white lightening strike down her chest and brown spots that you can only see when she is in the sun. She is very fun...but the energy is always there. She can jump to the top of my head from a stand...freaks me out. Tikki loves to chase her tail and when she's done going in one direction she starts in the other...lol. I realize she may not make Jack of the Month...but it is fun just submitting her.

Our Laura Alice, a former shelter dog is a Jack Russell/Black Lab mix and she is black 30lbs. white chest hairs and back feet white tips. She is a RIOT. All the energy of a JR, and all the sweetness and character of a Lab. We adore her! Don't tell her though....we keep threatening to send her back when she misbehaves.

We recently adopted a Jack/ Lab mix from the humane society. Her name is Bella and she's around 2 months 3 weeks now. I have raised many dogs in my life and she is one of the most intelligent pups I've come across. I've had her for a week, and although she has a short attention span as all puppies do, I've already got her sitting, she will stay, shake hands and plays fetch like a champ. She was using the pee pads every time after only 2 days. She minds extremely well and doesn't really tear anything up except for some knobs she chewed up on the back of my subwoofer. Great breed of dog and I can't wait til she gets older so I can run with her. High energy but very loving dog!

Got my Jack-Lab as a rescue in july of 12' She (Bella) just turned 1 last month! I never knew these dog crosses existed! WOW! She is all black, 4 white paws and a whire blaze on her chest, weighs about 30 pounds.
I swear, she got the BEST of each breed! She's patient, playful, energetic, smart as a whip, and an absolute couch potato when necessary (or she wants too). Can't for the life of me, fathom why someone would throw her away! She is spoiled rotten, and the light of my life! I can't imagine life without her!

I have a rescue that looks similar to your Black Jack. She is black but brown in the sun with a white lightening on her chest. She is also highly energetic. We love her. We don't really know what mix breed she is, but Coco is very smart and crazy! (Not sure how to send a photo of her...)

Yes i think he will get bigger but i think it depends on the size of the mom and dad because my dogs dad was a big jrt and the black lab was pretty big so my dog got pretty big and she weighs 35 pound. He is still young so i would suspect he would get bigger but the dog still will stay small if its a black lab jrt mix. Hope this helped!

my dog Shadow looks just like that, except smaller. last time we checked he was 10 pounds and he's aout 6 or 7 months. you think he'll grow any bigger?

Kelly: my dog weighs 35 pounds as well. She accually lets me hold her... she doesnt seem like shes 35 though.

Kelly: Tikki does not have a white tip on her tail but a couple of her brothers and sisters have a white tip on their tail.

Hello, your dog is so cute, she looks almost identical to my dog Casey that we adopted from the shelter here where I live in March of this year. She is about 14 Months old and she is the joy of our lives. :) I have to admit, we have spoiled her rotten and I am so glad that we are because I dont know what kind of life she had prior to entering the shelter so we want to give her all the love we can.:)
How much does your dog weigh? Casey weighs 35 pounds and the vet says she is full grown now. You were saying that she can jump up to your face, Casey when she gets excited will jump right up to your face and give a wet kiss before you even know what hit you! LOL I was also wondering if your dog has a white tip on her tail, Casey does and i was just wondering if that would go along with the Lab/Jack Rusell Terrior mix. I would be thankful for any comments to my questions.

Sparky weights about 25 lbs now he is almost 6 months old. and he looks just like your girl. We adopted him from SPCA and they said mom was a lab and dad JRT. He have sooo much energy drives me crazy in the house he will run back and forth and never gets tired. He jumps very high and loves to dig holes in our back yard, I don`t know what to try anymore to make him stop that. The only bad thing is that we have a very Pettite 2 yrs old girl that weight 22 lb. and Sparky loves to push her down and jump on her, and nipping-he is really clumsy too-( so as you might think its very exhausting for me to let him around the house without having to be right next to them!) over all he loves us and we love him , he is very smart and start wyning everytime any of the girls cry.We have been in training clases for 4 weeks now and he now sit, down, loose leash walks, drop, leave and take. The hardest part for him have been the stay and sitting when we get to the corner or ends of walks , and stop nipping!
