Our male Jack Russell 'bud' keeps jumping and barking at the bin in our garden he could jump and bark for hours on end, i have tried muzzling him and throwing water on him but to no avail. His excessive barking and yelping is driving the family crazy...please help

Lie the bin down and let your jr see what's inside. Let him get over himself in his time is the easiest option.

Jr have the tendency to have fixations.

Mine used to dance on her hind legs under the lemon tree. Yapping at what I thought was nothing. Turned out to be a black bird sitting in the tree. The bird wouldn't move on until I threw a lemon at it. And then my Jack Russell settled. That damn bird keeps returning and teasing my jr.
