American Jack Russell Terrier Rescue Units
Jack Russell Terrier Rescue: Many people who have seen these dogs featured in so many movies and TV venues, have rushed out and bought a Jack Russell puppy...believing they could raise their puppy to be another 'Milo' or 'Eddy'. But after discovering the unique needs of the dog, the infatuation with this Hollywood hopeful dissipates...and the disillusioned owner looks for... the Island of Elba...to exile their little Napoleon to. And sadly, in America, Jack Russell Terrier rescue units have a constant job of trying to find homes for these unwanted and misunderstood little dogs. Thank goodness for these fine Rescue organizations.
The majority of the dogs that end up in the Russell Rescue are unwanted simply for being Jack Russells by nature and behavior. Owners often find that they were unprepared for the care required for this feisty terrier and did not understand the nature of the breed, and their instinctive desire to hunt. Owners are often gone all day, and therefore unable to provide the time, attention, and level of activity necessary to this active little dog. Why not give a second chance to one of these abandoned dogs... for a good terrier life! The following is a list of Rescue Units.
