Two females living together

Hi, I have a 6 year old mini Jack Russell, who was an only pup, well trained an good natured. I am looking at getting another pup a female Jack Russell x Dachshund in a couple of weeks but not sure if have to females is a good idea, I've heard the can get into some terrible scraps. I really would like to get the new pup but don't want to end up separating them later.
