we have a miniature jrt named Lola, she is 15 weeks old and are unsure as to how often and how far we should walk at this stage. getting her out and about has been a bit limited as you can imagine due to the poor weather recently. we are worried if we may be doing too much or not enough.

LOLA, IS A MINATURE BUT...
by: ScooterMama

Hello,

Lola is a minature, but she needs walked atleast twice a day. I would not walk her for more than 30 to 45 minutes at this age. Let her be your guide on this. Somedays she may be able to walk more or less. When she appears tired, she is so small, that you can pick her up for a 5-10 minute rest, then start again.
You can also do training games with her in the house. She is small, I know, but these little dogs have plenty of energy.

Sorry about the rainy, cold weather there. We have a bit of the same here in Belgium. I can handle the rain, but that snow is a real mess.

Hey, you might also consider looking at the WizDog at wizdog.com. No matter what the weather you can have Lola go to the bathroom and not make a mess in the house. I love ours and my Ginger learned how to use it in just 1 day and she was almost 2 years old then.

Let me know how things go and always remember to introduce Lola to lots of adults, kidos, and other animals. These JRT's need to be socialized early, so that they can be pleasant and happy.

Shalom from Belgium,
Stef, JRT LOVER FROM TEXAS!
