We adopted a JRT at 7 mos and have had him for about 6 weeks. We love him and he loves us. However, after about 2 weeks with us he became extremely protective. To the point where he has bitten the legs of a few friends. I understand that is his nature, but the biting has to stop. I've been told some training tricks to let him know we are in charge and also to keep him on a leash until he gets used to the visitor in the house. But I don't think that is the answer, I need some good, solid training tips to prevent him from being to protective.
