Moaning Jack Russell NEW
by: Anonymous

I have the same problem with a moaning Jack Russell he moans the whole time and scratches himself although he does not have one flea on him. At night he keeps us awake with his moaning. He is now 14 years old and I do not know if it has something to do with his age. He is also on heart medication as he has a enlarged heart. It is now becoming unvearable and my husband is considering to have him put down - pleas is there anyone with any advise

Did you get any response? NEW
by: JRT4Me

My JRT, male, around 10 years old, does the same thing. He started this @2 years ago, and our Vet cannot explain it. It sounds like he is in pain all the time, but they can find nothing wrong, and he seems happy. They did say he has an enlarged heart. I suspect it may be cardiomyopathy (because of the odd breathing, sounds like something in lungs). He also started snoring and having a raspy breathing noise around the same time as he picked up the incessant moaning.. Was hoping someone else has some input. I would hate to think my little guy was in pain all this time.
