Don't give anything in the crate, not even a blanket. I know this sounds cruel, however, ours is now 10 years old and amazing. Before he was one, he chewed everything in site. We noticed he wasn't moving very good and found out what he was chewing up was bound in his stomach which required surgery if we wanted him to live. Kongs are the only thing we have been able to give him that he isn't able to destroy. Once he was 3 or 4 I think, we were able to introduce blanket back to him and he no longer chews that up. He still likes to steal socks and chew on towels.
Good luck!

Shredding in the crate...

Maybe you could give the little one a chew toy for in the crate? A bone, or rubber fun thing that you can put a little peanut butter in. I like the marrow bone type from the Food Lion and after they clean out what is in there, you can stuff dog treats and peanut butter in them. I mean the ones made specifically for dogs! Use newspaper or an old towel or don't put bedding in the crate?
