Biting

I have had my 6 year old JRT for the last 5 1/2 years. He has never had a problem with biting people before but in the last 9 months he has bitten 2 people. Not just a nip but full force bleeding. How do I know if he is ill or if its stress related (i moved 1 year ago to Chicago)? Is there anything I can do? Buddy Love is the most precious and caring dog. It breaks my heart. I don't understand it. Any help and information on what I can do to help him would be amazing!!
