A Dog Can Dream

by Sally Odgers
(Tasmania)

This one is Jeannie but Preacher does the same thing

This one is Jeannie but Preacher does the same thing

A snout protrudes from the shadows

Behind, lurk watchful eyes
Silence. Waiting. Hidden…
And then the cushion sighs.
He’d like to hint a crocodile
A’lurking in the stream
But God made him a terrier
(Oh well. A dog can dream.)

Our Preacher dog likes to lurk under cushions with just a cautious snout sticking out. Got to be careful not to sit on him by mistake.
