I year old female miniature Jack Russell

by Chris Manson
(France)

For the last few hours, walks slowly, slight collapse of a front leg, and cannot climb the stairs. Yet up to last night, running around etc like a Greyhound, which is her usual trait.

It had to be cramp. !
by: Chris Manson

Hello Stef,
Thank you for your reply - very much appreciated. We did go to the vet that morning ( closed ) but noticed that she did continue to improve, and that night, was back to her usual self. To confirm this, we have a 700 year old house with two steep staircases. She was running up and down them with ease, when she hears someone at the front door, or we go upstairs. She is like glue with my wife.
I can only think it was cramp, perhaps she slept on her paw at a bad angle.
I would have answered earlier, but could not find the posting - it was your email that led me to it, so many thanks.
Regards Chris.

GET JRT TO THE VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
by: ScooterMama59

Hello Chris,

Your little JRT sounds like she has hurt her front leg or she is having a petella problem, which is very common with JRT's. Either way she needs to have that leg x-rayed to make sure that it's okay.
So off to the VET as soon as you can. These front leg problems(petella especially) do not get better with time.
Your JRT baby will need some VET care to get better.

Thank you for the excellent question and let me know how things go for you and your JRT in France.
