Depends on the Animals

I own 2 cats... And have a 5 month old JRT who LOVES big dogs. I recomend getting your puppy young, like 7-8 weeks old. I got my boy at a little over 7 weeks old, he was so small that the cats couldn't help but be curious. He also has a puppy play pen set up in the kitchen for when he is too rambunxious for the cats, and I can't pay attention to his whereabouts. I like to treat them slot when they are being good and near each other. But my cats are ruff and tumble, and have taught him that they start and stop the games(he was very young, and it has stuck in his mind). My boy cat is especially fond of going out in the back yard with the pup...my girl cat is a little more reserved but hangs with the boys as an onlooker. Keep cat food bowls Up on a counter so they can eat in peace and know their food supply is safe. If you have one of those pet water fountains...they can all use it(but pup should have his own in his puppy pen. Monitor their interactions, make sure the cats have high places to jump to for safety, or to get out of an annoying situation. Good Luck! If you're cat is dog savvy...you are 10 steps ahead of the game!
He is very confident, but also a big lover. His best friends have been bigger dogs... Labs, mastiffs, pits, bulldogs, and just today he met his first Doberman who he instantly fell in love with. But I am making very sure the dogs he plays with don't pick on him. I try and make every new experience is positive, he isn't bullied, and he is happy.

The big dog MIGHT not be a problem, but I bet the cat will be.
