Weight of Jack Russell Terriers

I was wondering if there was a breed of Jack Russell's that you would consider miniature? My daughter wanted a small dog and I thought that Jack Russell's came in a smaller size than 12 inches tall.

I have a pudding jack with queen Anne legs. He's about 12 inches tall and weight varies between 12 to 15 lbs. Love him to death.

The conformation standard for a Jack Russell terrier ranges from 10-15 inches. there are "puds" that come shorter, but please RUN from anyone advertising "miniature jacks". There is no such thing. Shorties or standards only. If the jack is too small the bone structure is compromised and could end up causing problems for your dog later in life. RUN from anyone breeding chihuahuas with jacks just to make them smaller. Big problems are to come from that. Find yourself a reputable breeder of either JRTCA registered jacks or a reputable breeder of shorties "puds". Both should have well bred dogs that are pet quality. Pet quality is still a great bred dog just doesn't surpass anything that the good breeder already has in their breeding program.
You get what you pay for. If the 10-15" is still not small enough, please choose another breed, like a great bred chihuahua or something small from a shelter.
