When we lost our first Jack Russell (named Ribeye) prematurely to an aggressive form of cancer, my husband and I were devastated. We were grieving to the point of missing work and not eating- we just couldn't get over his death. My husband, knowing something needed to be done, saw an ad for 8 week old JRT puppies and decided to go look. He came home that day with Scooter. From the first few hours with us, he seemed to know we needed him. He was so loving and affectionate and immediately stole our hearts. Though still grieving, we were able to re-focus our emotions into loving this wonderful new addition who needed us as much as we needed him. He is four years old now and we couldn't love him more. Though we continue to miss Ribeye terribly, Scooter had healed our broken hearts and we love him dearly.
