Question About Sleeping

by Tina
(Maryland)

My Jack insists on sleeping under the covers - all the way under the covers by my feet. I am concerned about him being able to breathe ok under the covers for a prolong period of time. Can anyone help me out with this one?

Paco sleeps under the covers too!
by: Maureen Elizabeth

I laughed when I saw these comments about JRT's sleeping under the covers...mine does that too. I try to make a little tent of air beside him..I lift up the cover a little bit to let air in...When I don't do this, he comes up for air panting...so funmy he is.

Sleeping under the covers
by: Cherry's Mom

Our 3 yr old JRT Cherry has sleep under the covers since she left her mother. If she gets too hot, she comes out and lays on top of the covers. When my husband goes to bed before me, she sleeps on my side and warms it up until I come to bed. Nothing better that a warm JRT puppy sleeping next to you. They love to cuddle.

Jacks love warmth!
by: Tara

My little shorty JRT has slept under the duvet since the day she came into my home at 3 months of age. Lara seems to feel the cold which would explain her choice of sleeping places as well for the need for a large winter wardrobe.

Extra Blanket
by: Linda V.

Our Jack "Rocky" loved to sleep under our covers but I was having to change sheets constantly b/c of all the hair. Now he has his own blanket at the end of the bed that he sleeps under and he is happy as a clam there!

Dog Sleeping Under the Covers
by: Anonymous

Our Jack Russell mix LOVES to sleep under the covers by our feet. You really should feel lucky, since our dog seems to think that randomly attempting to lick our feet is appropriate! Nothing like waking up to the dog licking your foot- gross!!!

Sleeping
by: HARBORVIEW JRTS

Count yourself one of the lucky ones. nothing like a warm foot warmer. If he does not feel comfortable or not able to get enough air, he will climb out. Make sure your feet don't stink or you may lose that foot warmer. lol

Don't Worry
by: Marc

Do not worry...your dog is smart enough to know if he is not getting enough oxygen. He just likes being under the covers with you!
