My limping Jack Russell

by Chuck Kobert

I have a 6 month old Jack Russell that began walking with her back right leg in the air. She will not put weight on it when she walks. However, she runs like crazy and seems to put full weight on it. Any advice?

My JRT was doing the same!
by: Sinead - Ireland

My JRT was doing the very same. She was holding up her hind leg but carrying on as normal!
I took her to the vet, they x-rayed the hind legs, did tests on them and concluded there was nothing "physically" wrong with her!
I have seen other JRT's do it since and think it's just a trait of theirs!!

I THINK THAT SHE MIGHT HAVE...
by: ScooterMama

Hello Chuck,
Sometimes our little JRT's get things stuck in their paws. Please inspect it and the black pad and see if you see anything.
If not maybe she pulled the leg or maybe it's a new game. Trust me, the JRT's are very creative in their "quirks".
If it does continue more than a couple of weeks I would surely recommend having her seen by the VET.
Could be a strain/sprain. As much and as furiously as these dogs run and jump, she could have a slight injury in the leg.

Hope this helps,
