You should definitely not allowed this. Jacks are noted for "owning" their favorite person, beds, chairs etc. They can progress into real dangerous aggression if this is allowed. When Teddy growls when on your lap and you choose to move, you need to stand up immediately and let him fall to the ground, do not put him down. I would also suggest not letting him sit on your lap for a while. he must know that you are the boss and this is not acceptable behavior. It leads to other problems. This is not "cute". They will "own" you to the point where if another person or dog comes within striking distance they will attack. I know this because i have dealt with this problem and I was recommended to do this procedure to stop it. It worked immediately. Mine did it in my bed and it had severe consequences with a bad bite. My dog now does not sleep in my bed, He can sit beside me on the couch but not on me. Take care, these little dogs can "train" you before you even know it is happening. they are the greatest but you have to be aware of what they are thinking and doing at all times and stay one step ahead of them always.
