Mar 02, 2009 Rating Smooth Coat or Wire Hair? by: Anonymous I picked up my Jack at 6 weeks and there was no doubt, out of the litter, he was a rough coat. The ones who were smooth were also obvious. I would say, surely at 6 weeks if not sooner, you can tell what their coat will be like!
