Jack Russell Dog Tail Biting

My jet is chewing the the top of his tail (uncropped). Please help. He won't stop and it is raw and bleeds. Suggestions? Is it OK to have it cropped after a certain age. He's 3

Dog Tail Biting

My Roxie was biting her tail the same way, it was very raw looking, I saturated cotton balls with hydrogen peroxide and dabbed her tail several times a day, in a matter of a few days it cleared up completely. The hair grew back and you would never know there ever was a problem. I use the same remedy for any red blotches that appear on their (I have 3 other JRT's) bellies or any where on their bodies. Good Luck!
