HELP

My jrt has a lot of energy but doesn't like to play really he just wants to cuddle and sleep. He dsnt seem to hold much interest in toys and listens about half the time. He only barks at people and is very protective but is afraid of everything , I mean everything! I keep reading jrts have a lot of energy and love to play and are fearless, but he isn't that way I try to engage him but it dsnt seem to work he sick?!
