Honestly, I don't see any cross, she looks all JR to me, in this pic. I have had several Jacks and known many, short leg, long leg, tri color, brown and white, black and white, smooth coat, broken coat, long hair...Good luck!

Many shelters use "cross" in an effort to keep themselves neutral and out of any possible trouble. (read liablity) It also helps weed out the folks that are more about the breed than they are about the dog. Most shelters will not say the dog is a purebred unless it is an owner surrender with papers.
In looking at Gizmo -- hard to say -- a side view that includes hind quarters and tail set might help.

I wondered because of the shape and look of the eyes if it could maybe be beagle?
Whatever it is, it was a pretty breed. Lovely dog.
